Surrender FAQ

BBB Canine Rescue & Transport knows that surrendering your dog is a very difficult decision. Maybe you just got your dog and realize you cannot care for them properly. You may have had your dog for a long time and now your circumstances have changed. Surrendering you dog to BBB Canine Rescue & Transport or a shelter is a very difficult decision but sometimes, it’s the only one.

If you choose to surrender your dog to BBB Canine Rescue & Transport you will be asked to complete a surrender contract. This is a legally binding contract and gives full ownership of the dog to BBB Canine Rescue & Transport. This allows BBB Canine Rescue & Transport to provide veterinary care and later, legally adopt out the dog to a carefully pre-screened forever home.

Please review the surrender contract to make your decision.

Your dog will also appreciate it if you surrender him/her with all of his/her belongings, including bed, leash, harness, toys and supply of food to make his/her transition to foster care an easier one. Finally, copies of the vet records are helpful to allow BBB Canine Rescue & Transport to make the necessary and important decisions regarding the dogs’ care.
